first i was in bed then the bed was rocking i thought that i was moving in bed but i woke up and the light was moving and my mum was trying to get to me i was crying and my brother came and got me and we turned the tv on and watched the bbc news and iwas worried becouse my grandad finished work at the time of the quake my grandad he speeded home to nans house and we got picked up and we all had a feed of kfc it was yum the end thank you ladies and gentelmen.

It was a cold Saturday morning I woke my friend Melissa up to tell her to put the fire back on but there was no more matches. So I tried to go back to sleep on her couch when the house started shaking.

During that time I thought the whole house was moving towards her fence Melissa jumped up and started screaming "EARTHQUAKE!!! wake up!" I still was lying in bed a couple of minutes after that.

Her whole family plus me were standing in the doorway terrified down to the bone well I was. A little butterfly plate fell down and broke in their house and that was it.

After the whole family went to back to bed,I didn't want to sleep in the lounge so we moved into Melissa's room. I couldn't get back to sleep after how furiously the house had shaken.

Later, about 7 o'clock, Melissa and I got up and made ballon animals. Then just out of the bloom a pretty good aftershock happened. Soon after I didn't want to touch the ground incase it lifted or put a big humungous hole in the floor. When we were all up and it was sunny outside I could see kids playing like nothing had happened.

During the next day I had to go to Kaiapoi Pony Club. It was scary because we had to go across the old waimakariri bridge and it had lifted about 30 centimeters.

After about 6 days of aftershocks I got sick of them and went down to my bache where we couldn't feel them. So we went whitebait fishing and I went for some walks over the past 2 days, to get back to more aftershocks.

It was a scary time and I found out about people who had been hurt off one news so I could be updated.

So I hope Canterbury doesn't have a disaster that big again or one at all.

On Saturday morning at 4:35am the Earthquake shook like a snake rattling its rattle and Deijara screamed like a big as baby crying for her bottle. But I wasn't scared one bit neither was Lyric well a little bit.Lyric felt scared. Then soon or later Mum came stomping through my sisters room then Mum shouted, "get in the Lounge!" but I thought that's not the safest place to be. But I stuck with my Mums idea then when it was finished my family and my Mums boyfriend watched some T.V.

On saturday 4th at 4.30am a HUGE! Earthquake!!!! and a shocking Magnitude of 7.5!.
The Earthquake sruck with furry!!!.All of Canterbury put their heads together to help each other now id say about 90 percent of christchurch has water and power.Darfield is were it hit hard! it was shocking t see the resolts.To everyone in darfield all our sympathy.


Now at my house it was amazing I don't think I have ever experienced anything like it!!
first I was shaken out of my bed then the rumbling started AHHHHH!!!! everything was shaking!!! me and my brother were shocked out of bed at the same time! we fort to get to my mother&fathers bedroom.By the look on my dads face it was like he thought he was still dreaming we ran downstairs to see if my grandmother was ok she was fine thankfully! :).When the afternoon came me and my family decided to go rubbernecking in other words site seeing.We drove past New Brighton and a Gas station it was.......SHOCKING!..the ground had risen from flat ground to almost the size of a landpost well not really but IT WAS HUGE!! all through the day there were big Aftershocks.Even now there is Aftershocks we are still hoping that all of this mayem will go away but christchurch is a amzing place an i think if we all put our heads together we can get through this!.:)

THE CANTERBURY EARTHQUAKE =0

The other day was a big earthquake.When it just started I felt my bed shaking.   We had stay in the door frame. It was so dark we had get our torches .  I said this is like my first earthquake, I never imagined it would happen. . All our t.vs fell over . We had cook on BBQ because we had no power . I went home early because I was just scared and we had a look around town theres a gas station the whole ground lifted up and are hole street is flooded buildings are down. Me and my cousin .We went for a a walk and just a round corner there was a digger stuck. Cos of all the sand it toke them a hour and when we got back from the Warehouse. They had to get a crain . And are friends got trapt in there door . Until it stop with no lights no power. I  was at my dads when it happened and then i went home. It was centered out were my dad lived. It was a Saturday morning about 4.50 and i was about to go toilet when it hit Christchurch. EARTHQUAKE I yelled.It was exciting and scary at the same time.I was freaking out.It finally finished after awhile.Me and my mum went and had a look.We walked in the lounge and the cabinet had fallen down.All of the stuff in it was smashed.We walked out side and noticed that most off the people were driving away in there car.We went back inside and tried to go to sleep.

MORNING

We walked out side and looked around the house and it was a disaster.We went for a walk down to St Paul's school and it was trashed.There was a huge crack right threw the school.That day we called our Nana and she said we could stay until we get a new house. THANKS NANA

The BIG EARTHQUAKE!! By Melissa

On Saturday the 4th of September Christchurch had a BIG EARTHQUAKE!! This is my story.

On the morning of the EARTHQUAKE I had my friend Rayanna over for the next day for my
birthday party. The morning of the QUAKE at about 4:30 am Rayanna asked me to put the
fire on,but I told her that there was no matches left.

Later about 4:45 am the EARTHQUAKE struck. I screamed to wake everyone up, after that
I yelled "Mum, Dad wake up EARTHQUAKE!!" then my Dad yelled "EARTHQUAKE get 

under a doorframe!!" 

After the EARTHQUAKE finished we checked every thing in the house and every thing was

okay. I checked our rabbit, he was fine. 

Later we went to checked some of Rayanna's horses, they were all fine, too. A lot of people

from my street came and looked around to see if there was any damage and what the 

damage was.

Uninvited Earthquake by Brandon

On Saturday fourth of September four forty five am there was a uninvited Earthquake that made Christchurch a disaster zone. When I woke up my bunk was shaking I fell on the floor my mum came up the hallway me and Caleb and Cameron went into the lounge.My baby brother was still sleeping we went outside a sewage pipe burst it looked like water was flowing in from new Brighton beach . You could here the waves flowing and it looked like the water was frozen our ornaments and china smashed then my family went to my Nana's .It will take a couple of years to fix Christchurch. The earthquake made some of Christchurch residents homeless and have to live with family. some Christchurch residents are stranded without water food and power some lost china ornaments photos and electronics .It was like a million gigantic boulders have been dropped on christchurch.

On saturday the 4th of September at 4.35 am we had a big Earthquake that was a magnitude of 7.1 it shock Christchurch badly.
On saturday when the Earthquake happened my Aunty got me in the door way and held me and my uncle Darren we were all scared.
Then when it stopped i asked aunty what was it she said it was an Earthquake and i was screaming so loud that is what woke my uncle Wayne and uncle Ross.We all went in to the lounge

execpt me and my uncle we went outside and sat down.

Saturday 4th of September about 4.30 am I told Melissa to put the fire back on. She said that there was no more matches so I tried to go back to sleep when it started the house was shaking furiously and Melissa started screaming mum,dad wake up EARTHQUAKE!! I was still lying on the couch and then I got up when one of her mums plates fell down. We were standing in the door way until it stopped. They told us to go back to sleep but I couldn't go back to sleep because I was so shocked and not expecting it. So the rest of the morning I got no sleep at all and no one could stand the after shocks in my family. After it was light me and Melissa started making ballon animals then we had another surprise after shock. Luckily nothing had fallen down  her street. I rang my mum to make sure my horses were ok and lucky there wasn't anyother disaster going to happen anytime soon. I found out what happened when we watched channel one because they were keeping us updated.
