Earthquake!! BY:Jessie B

On saturday 4th at 4.30am a HUGE! Earthquake!!!! and a shocking Magnitude of 7.5!.
The Earthquake sruck with furry!!!.All of Canterbury put their heads together to help each other now id say about 90 percent of christchurch has water and power.Darfield is were it hit hard! it was shocking t see the resolts.To everyone in darfield all our sympathy.


Now at my house it was amazing I don't think I have ever experienced anything like it!!
first I was shaken out of my bed then the rumbling started AHHHHH!!!! everything was shaking!!! me and my brother were shocked out of bed at the same time! we fort to get to my mother&fathers bedroom.By the look on my dads face it was like he thought he was still dreaming we ran downstairs to see if my grandmother was ok she was fine thankfully! :).When the afternoon came me and my family decided to go rubbernecking in other words site seeing.We drove past New Brighton and a Gas station it was.......SHOCKING!..the ground had risen from flat ground to almost the size of a landpost well not really but IT WAS HUGE!! all through the day there were big Aftershocks.Even now there is Aftershocks we are still hoping that all of this mayem will go away but christchurch is a amzing place an i think if we all put our heads together we can get through this!.:)

  1. Im so thanfull that no one was hurt well...their was one 50 year old man that had a chimney fall on him but he is recovering quickly :)

  2. This is a wonderful interesting account of your experiences during the earthquake. Great use of vocabulary that makes your story easy to read.
    Fury - (I am sure you meant that not furry) a small mistake but it tends to make the earthquake sound soft and cuddly!
